ANCHORS AWEIGH

Cowtown Lake. It's larger than what's seen here. A great lake for sailing, the winds hit the lake from the north and often from the west.

Ten minutes from the backdoor of the house, Cowtown Lake is the perfect place to recreate.
If you've followed this blog you know that it's been a long search for a sailboat. Equally so, it's been a long wait in line for a slip at the lake to moor the boat.

The wait is over. Soon, in the quiet inlet seen here, Bob's 25' sailboat will sit. Last week I signed a year's contract to moor the boat here.

All that's left is to buy the boat. What I plan on buying is located at a dealer 450 miles to the north.
Just to the left side of the boat with blue tarp is where it will be berthed. There's water and electricity at the front of the slip.

The plan is to moor the boat here but trailer it for sailing in other places. With our last 25' sailboat we sailed San Francisco Bay, Lake Tahoe, Diamond Lake, Clear Lake and a few others. We'll sail these same places but add the San Juan Islands in Washington state, San Diego's Mission Bay and Catalina Island to the list.

For those who follow What About Bob, it will make for some pretty interesting pictures. And for Bob, it will be one hellofa lot of fun.
