DAMN IT DON! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!

For well over 15 years I've watched Don Imus on MSNBC, Imus in the Morning show. It takes dedication to catch his show. On the west coast Imus is on from 3 in the morning until 6.

Don is an equal opportunity offender when it comes to dissing anyone, anything or any group. He's good at that. Nothing is sacred. And I mean nothing.

Last week the straw that broke the camel's back went down. On national television Don called the Rutger's women's basketball "a bunch of nappy headed ho's." Somehow he though this was funny and no one would object too loudly.

Wrong! Don, what the hell were you thinking? This is 2007. We don't think or say things like that. If your father was still alive no doubt he'd take you by the ear to the woodshed.

Now you've got the nut cases of all nuts down your throat. Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson. They'll all over what Don said like a bear on honey.

Only thing they should have thought before they caused such a fuss. As men of the cloth they should have consulted the Bible first and read, "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

Rev. Jackson: Adultery. Calling NY City Hymie Town. That's for starters.

Rev. Sharpton: That rape case in NYC a couple of years back that was found to be complete fraud? The good Reverand was behind that hoax big time. Ruined the lives and careers of two fine police officers. Now it's time for Don Imus to be trashed by the good Rev. Sharpton.

Don's not perfect. Are you? His apology was sincere. He's remorseful almost to a fault. He's learned a huge lesson here yet these two men of the cloth will not let it go. They want Imus' job on the chopping block. Where everyone else has gotten home scot free (or who have checked into rehab) who have screwed up by making stupid remarks Don Imus remains the sacrificial lamb.

The networks bowed to the pressure. Imus has been suspended from broadcasting for two weeks. I'll bet you won't see the likes of Don Imus doing Imus in the Morning on national television again.

Hey Sharpton and Jackson! What ever happened to turn the other cheek? Please. Let's punish Don Imus not execute the man.

I hope Sharpton and Jackson continue to monitor the media for inappropriate racial remarks and make the same fuss over those who make prejudicial statements.

Think they'll apply the same standard to racially oriented comments made by anyone of color?
