AND THEN THERE WAS JUST ZOE

Where there was once two Pomeranians there's but one now. That would be Zoe, the dog we "rescued" from a breeder given happily to us because she could not produce a litter.

Zoe is 4 1/2 pounds soaking wet. Hardly broodstock for a puppy mill.

Now that our Jill is gone, Zoe has taken her spot on my side of the bed and top of my pillows.

I like to share.

Zoe has taken to snuggling down with me in my chair and sharing warmth. She knows who used to inhabit this all sacred spot. Zoe knows it's her turn and does it well.
Before I left for the Valley Sunday the wife cracked crab, placed it on French bread and toasted it under the broiler. What a treat.

I'm "blah" today. Getting back on my game after the loss of the best dog and friend in the world has been a tough one. You'd think I would bounce back but I haven't. Jilli's death has deeply affected me - - - more than I ever would have guessed.

It's going to take time. Lots of it.

Having lost someone recently who was very close to me, I know its not that easy to just bounce back. Take the time you need to grieve.

Gosh I love that dog. Not just because she is adorable and looks like a little itty bitty fox but because she is looking after her daddy right now.

That's a good girl!

(who's a good girl Zoe? who is?)

Ms SD: Thanks, if anyone knows about grief it's you. I appreciate your sentiment.

Lea: Thanks. Zoe has been somewhat lost these past weeks. She just doesn't understand what happened to our Jill.

Rachel: Zoe is trying to fill the void. It's interesting to see how she tries to step up and do what Jill used to do. I'm so very happy that we have Zoe to hang onto. And yes, she does look like that little fox. She's really cute.
