Max is coming home

Max will be home today. He's not been home since Christmas 2007. Living in Korea does not make for frequent visits. The expense of flying is about 1k here and 1k to fly back. Taking a slow boat from and to China would be less expensive but would mean more time at sea and less time at home. You'd arrive and have to turn around and go back.

As a young lad Max ate a lot of chicken. This accounts for his over 6' stature. I probably would have been over 6' too, had there been growth hormones in chicken back in the day. I'm stuck with a measly 5'10" height. No amount of growth hormone chicken is going to change that!

Max cooks a lot at his home in Korea and does take his turn in the kitchen during his visits. Tonight it's steak, corn salad, green beans, baked potato, strawberry shortcake. Tomorrow night we'll eat out . . . probably at a place that serves food not found in Korea.

For weeks Gracie has been looking forward to Uncle Max's visit. She's made several special gifts for him which are wrapped and waiting for Max to arrive. This photo, 19 months old, shows a much younger Grace. Max will be surprised to see how much our girl has changed since then.

This last shot was taken Christmas 2007. Grace is showing off the fake nails Santa put in her stocking. Max is wondering if they'll fit as they would certainly make a fashion statement during his flight home.

Today we'll sail, talk, eat and enjoy. It will be nice to have Max home once again.
