Reading Between The Lines

Gracie, Wifey, Hanna (Grace's step-sister) and Zeenie curled up Saturday to read a couple of books.  Zeen is certified as a Read Dog in the Read Program and needed the practice.  The girls had spent Friday night and all of Saturday morning at the house.  It was the perfect opportunity to get in a little reading practice.

As members of the Read Program Wifey and Zeenie visit schools and the local public library and listen to children read.  They do this once or twice each week.  The children just love cuddling up next to Zeenie and reading outloud to her.

Being a pup makes it hard to maintain attention to anything for even a short period of time.  Zeenie is copping a big time yawn and probably thinking how great it would be if only she could go outside and chase birds or play with her red ball.

With a little prompting our girl is brought back to staying on task and is shown here with her nose in a good book and reading between the lines.  Smart dog for a lot of life is not taking things face value but being able to do just that - -- reading between the lines.  She's only two years old but already adapt at this skill.

If only I had learned how to read between the lines early in life.  Could have saved a lot of money and a lot of grief.

Ya think?
